January 26, 2020 (Albuquerque) - The Aztec track and field team wrapped up the MLK Collegiate Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The day was highlighted by the Aztecs taking the top two spots in the 4x400m relay with the A squad running the third best time in school history (3:41.20).

The team of Jalyn Harris, Danae Dyer, Jada Moore and Nyjari McNeil finished in 3:41.20, over five seconds off the closest competition, SDSU’s B team.

Sakura Roberson, who set a school record in the 600m Friday, had the top Aztec time in the 400m dash coming in at 54.74, good for eighth place and the seventh fastest time in school history. Jalyn Harris was right behind her (54.75) and they were followed by Nyjari McNeil (55.50).

Erica Grotegeer had a throw of 44-10.75 in the shot put, a new PR and the 10th best mark in school history.

In the pole vault, Kaitlin Heri (4th place) and WSU transfer Molly Scharmann (6th place), cleared 12-09.50.

Sonja Andenmatten, a transfer from North Florida, earned a sixth-place finish in the 800m run, finishing in 2:13.82.
