August 19, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State women’s soccer opened their 2016 season with a home opener against UCLA at the SDSU Sports Deck.

It was a quiet game until the 30th minute when Darian Jenkins scored on a rebound to give UCLA a 1-0 lead.  Four minutes later, Jenkins scored again to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead.  Yet another four minutes later, Jenkins secured the hat trick with her third goal of the half to put UCLA up 3-0.

In the second half, UCLA didn't stop.  The Bruins tallied again in the 50th minute with a goal by Julia Hernandez to make the lead 4-0.  The Bruins got in one last goal to complete the shutout in the 75th minute by Amber Munerlyn to make the final score 5-0 UCLA.

The Aztecs head to Long Beach State on August 29th.
