November 7, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State forward Aliyah Utush has been named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week. The senior was one of five honorable mention selections after helping the Aztecs win the 2017 Mountain West Championship.

A native of Rocklin, Utush scored four goals in two games at the MW tournament last week in Las Vegas. The second-team all-Mountain West selection notched the winner in SDSU’s 1-0 victory over Boise State in the semifinals and recorded a hat trick in the Aztecs’ 3-0 decision over New Mexico in the final.

Of the others who made the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week, no one scored more goals than Utush, who has been on a tear lately, scoring seven goals in her last six outings. At the conclusion of the Mountain West Championship, Utush was voted to the all-tournament team and named MVP.

For the season, Utush has scored a team-high-tying nine goals, posted an SDSU-best seven assists and led all Aztecs with 25 points. She owns a team-high four game-winning goals and put a remarkable 59.6 percent of her shots on goal (31-52).

This is the second team-of-the-week accolade for San Diego State this season. Earlier this year, defender and first-team all-MW pick Stacie Moran was recognized on Oct. 25.

Utush and San Diego State are in the midst of their preparation for Friday’s NCAA tournament first-round game at UCLA. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT at Drake Stadium with a stream provided at Pac-12.com.
