May 1, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State senior left-hander Brett Seeburger has been named the Mountain West Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 30, 2017. It is the second MW weekly accolade of the season for the Aztec hurler.

Seeburger (Oceanside, Calif. / Vista HS) earned a 4-0 victory over league-leader New Mexico to open their conference series on Friday night (April 28).

In 7.1 innings of work, he gave up three hits, all singles. Only one Lobo baserunner advanced as far as second base against him. In addition, he struck out six batters and walked three.

Seeburger held UNM to a .130 batting average in the contest. The Lobos came into the game hitting .317 as a team.

With the victory, Seeburger improved to 8-1 on the season while lowering his earned run average to 2.98, a figure that leads the Mountain West entering the week

San Diego State returns to action on Tuesday evening (May 2) when it travels to Los Angeles to take on UCLA in a contest scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m. at the Bruins’ Jackie Robinson Stadium.
