Friday, April 3, 2015 (La Mesa) -- Making literal the Easter message of a new day for 90 years now, Easter Sunrise services will be held again on Sunday, April 5 at 6:30 a.m. in the Mt. Helix Park amphitheater, where early birds can start their holiday celebration amidst the splendor of the Park's awe inspiring 360˚ view.

Services, which began in the park in 1925, are free and open to the public. The annual event rotates among religious organizations, and this year will be hosted by the Foothills United Methodist Church.

Shuttles will run from three locations to Mt. Helix beginning at 5:00 am and returning immediately after the service, approximately 7:30 a.m., from the dirt parking lot near the San Miguel Fire Station at the corner of Mt Helix Dr. and Vivera Dr, the bottom parking lot of the Brigantine Restaurant on Fuerte Drive, and the Foothills United Methodist lower parking lot at 4031 Avocado Boulevard.
