SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER ATTEMPTED ROBBERY IN LA MESA

February 13, 2015 (La Mesa) – Robert Mixon, 25, of San Diego is under arrest after allegedly trying to steal a purse from a woman at the trolley station at 70th Street and Alvarado Road in  La Mesa.

The victim told police that the man approached from behind and grabbed her purse, breaking the strap.  She was able to push free and run to a local business, where she called La Mesa Police.

The suspect fled on foot toward the trolley platform.  Police officers located Mixon near the trolley platform based on a description provided by the victim. He was identified by the victim during a curbside line-up.  He also had an unrelated felony warrant for his arrest.   

The victim was not injured.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is urged to call the La Mesa Police Department at (619) 667-1400.
