December 30, 2015 (Mt. Laguna)--Visitors flocked to Mount Laguna yesterday after a light snowfall left just enough for sledders to enjoy some winter fun. A frost advisory is in effect for much of our region tonight through Thursday, with clear skies forecast for New Year’s Eve.
Though warmer weather this weekend is expected to melt away those patches of snow remaining, a new storm expected to hit Wednesday and Thursday of next week could bring more snow to the region, including Julian as well as Mt. Laguna—so keep those snow boots and sleds handy.

August 30, 2014 (Julian) – For the 45th year, Julian celebrates the end of summer with music. The Julian Music Festival will be held at the Menghini Winery on September 20th from 1 to 8 p.m. This year’s event features bluegrass to celebrate the festival’s roots, Western ballads to remember the past, as well as music by current songwriters and singers.
Performers slated to appear include singer/songwriter Melanie Devaney, guitarist/singer Steve Ybarra, Cool Band Luke performing high energy favorites, and Trails and Rails performing train songs, cowboy tunes, pop, swing, vocal harmonies and whistling.

The aroma of freshly baked apple pie will fill the air during the Julian Apple Days Pie Contest, Friday, September 30. The contest is free and open to all amateur bakers in the region.

January 3, 2010 (San Diego)—Scattered showers are forecast today across San Diego County, with snow forecast in mountain areas.
“We’re all hoping for snow,” said Teresa Manley at Julian Meadow View Inn in Julian. Snow is good for the tourism business in Julian, but despite forecasts of snow last night, the mountain town which has an elevation of 4,235 feet got only drizzle, Manley said.

October 21, 2010 (Julian) -- On Sunday, October 31, at 5:00 p.m. Jeremy’s on the Hill California-Style Bistro teams up with Stone Brewing Company to host a five-course Beer Pairing. The event will feature local produce and ingredients, as well as specialty hops and at least one course featuring grass fed American bison from Star B Buffalo Ranch and Hops Farm.
Guests are invited to wear Halloween Costumes (if they dare….) and prizes will be awarded.
