(June 4, 2015 ) -- Dr. Nabil S. Abu-Ghazaleh, president of West Los Angeles College, has been named president of Grossmont College effective July 1.

MARSHA EDWARDS NAMED NEW HUMAN RESOURCES CHIEF FOR GROSSMONT-CUYAMACA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT

 

September 30, 2013 (El Cajon) –  Marsha Edwards, a 22-year veteran in her field, has started her new post as vice chancellor for human resources for the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District.

Edwards, who was born in Oregon and spent much of her life there, said she was intrigued by the job posting for the top human resources job at the East County college district.

 “When I looked into the position, it seemed like a good fit with my background and experience and would allow me the opportunity to work with two great colleges in a great climate – decision made!” she said.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY TAXPAYERS ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS COLLEGE DISTRICT'S PROPOSITION V

October 8, 2012 (San Diego’s East County) – The San Diego County Taxpayers Association, a watchdog organization that looks out for citizens’ tax dollars, has given its support to Proposition V, the $398 million bond measure being sought on the Nov. 6 ballot by the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District.

BILL GARRETT RETURNS AS GROSSMONT-CUYAMACA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD PRESIDENT IN 2012


December 20, 2011 (San Diego East County) -- The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District Governing Board has unanimously selected Bill Garrett to serve a fifth term as president, while Mary Kay Rosinski and Edwin Hiel were elected to serve as fellow board officers for 2012. Garrett has served since 2008 as board president for the East County district, with about 30,000 students at Grossmont and Cuyamaca colleges.

NEW FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED TO RAISE FUNDS FOR GROSSMONT AND CUYAMACA COLLEGES

 

September 7, 2011 (East County) – A new foundation that will strengthen fundraising for East County’s two community colleges has been established to better connect with alumni and broaden the sources of money coming in to support the schools.


The Foundation for Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges continues the work of the two separate foundations at Grossmont College and Cuyamaca College to raise money for scholarships, facilities and college programs.

GROSSMONT AND CUYAMACA COLLEGES RAISE MONEY TO FUND 82 BERNARD OSHER FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

July 15, 2011 (East County) -- East County’s two community colleges have raised almost $850,000 for the Bernard Osher Foundation scholarship fund that will forever provide awards of at least $1,000 to 82 students each year.
