TWO TEENS ARRESTED IN 7-11 ARMED ROBBERY SERIES

February 20, 2013 (San Diego’s East County)—El Cajon Police today announced the arrest of Forrest Gunner Fermil and Kailee Ray, both 18, in connection with three armed robberies within an hour on February 18 committed by a masked man.

The suspects were arrested in the 10000 block of Vista Parque in Lakeside at 3 p.m. today. After developing a promising lead, El Cajon Police workined in junction with investigators from the Santee Sheriff’s Station and located the first suspect.

“As the investigation continued, an accomplice, believed to have been the `get-away’ driver, was also identified and arrested without incident at the same location,” said Lt. J.D. Arvan with El Cajon Police.

The first armed robbery occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m.at the 7-Eleven located at 335 Jamacha Road, in El Cajon.  The next robbery occurred about 35 minutes later at the 7-Eleven located at 735 East Bradley Avenue in the unincorporated area of El Cajon.  The third robbery occurred at approximately 3:12a.m. at the 7-Eleven located at 10205 Lake Jennings Park Road in Lakeside.

In each robbery, the suspect was wearing a distinct red skull type mask and used what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun.  The same suspect was believed to have committed a similar robbery two days earlier at the 7-Eleven located in the 1400 block of Jamacha Road in the unincorporated area of El Cajon.

Both suspects were eventually transported and booked into their respective detention facilities.
