VALLEY CENTER RESIDENT KILLED IN BORREGO SPRINGS MOTORCYCLE-HORSE TRAILER COLLISION

January 24, 2011 (Valley Center) – The San Diego Medical Examiner’s office has identified Dwight Fredrick Asmus, 67, of Valley Center as the motorcyclist killed on January 16 in Borrego Springs.

 

Asmus was driving his 1970 Moto Guzzi 750 Ambassador motorcycle eastbound on State Route 78 in Borrego Springs when he lost control going into a curve, according to the Califiornia Highway Patrol. He veered onto the westbound lane and collided with a Chevy pickup truck pulling a horse trailer. He was ejected and death was confirmed at the scene by responding paramedics and officers.
 

Asmus lived along at his home n Valley Center, according to the Medical Examiner.
