The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications. This effort is designed to prevent pill abuse and theft by getting rid of potentially dangerous, expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs in a safe manner. Studies show that most teens who have abused prescription drugs get those drugs from their own homes or from the homes of friends.
