EL CAJON SEEKS APPLICANTS FOR CITY’S PERSONNEL COMMISSION AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY FACILITY FINANCING

January 14, 2021 (El Cajon) -- The City of El Cajon is currently accepting applications for one position on the Personnel Commission and three on the Public Safety Facility Financing Oversight Committee. The filing period is open though Monday, February 1, 2020, at 5:00 p.m.

City Council interviews via Zoom will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 7:00 p.m.

A Day of Free Music This Weekend In Downtown El Cajon

This coming Saturday, August 29, it will be a day of music at the Prescott Promenade.  Starting at 12 noon, three groups will take the stage as to “make-up” concerts for those that were rained out in May during the Dinner & a Concert series.

Major developments regarding the animal shelter were revealed  at the July 14 Council Meeting, but in a bizarre, stunning manner.

KABOOM! HELP BUILD A PLAYGROUND AT BILL BECK PARK JUNE 18 AND 20

June 13, 2015 (El Cajon)--Once again, the City of El Cajon plans to build a playground in a day.  Volunteers are needed to help with the assembly of a one-of-a-kind, customized playground at Bill Beck Park on June 18 and June 20.  The existing playground at Bill Beck Park was over 50 years-old.  So, a new playground is planned to provide youths with a better area to play and have fun.  Some of the volunteers who have registered so far include off-duty Heartland Fire & Rescue Firefighters and El Cajon Police officers, along with other City personnel and members of local civic groups.

KABOOM PLAYGROUND BUILT IN ONE DAY AT WELLS PARK ON SATURDAY

 

June 7, 2014 (El Cajon) – The City of El Cajon for 150 volunteers to help build a playground Saturday – and got 290. Not only was this one-of-kind customized playground built in one day, it was built in less than six hours.

May 7, 2014 (El Cajon) - The City of El Cajon needs volunteers to help with the assembly of a one-of-a-kind, customized playground at Wells Park on June 5th and June 7th.  The existing playground at Wells Park is in need of replacement. A new playground will provide youth with a new area to play and have fun.

HELP SOUGHT FOR FAMILY DISPLACED BY FIRE IN EL CAJON

 
January 30, 2012 (El Cajon) – Help is needed a family with a child and two dogs, all displaced by an early morning fire at the home they were renting. The house, built in the early 1900s, may be a total loss and damage is estimated at $180,000 including contents.


“The couple renting this home did not have renter’s insurance and lost everything,” said Monica Zech, spokesperson for the City of El Cajon. “If anyone would like to help, please call (619) 441-1737.
