February 28, 2023 (San Diego) – Black History Month is a time tocelebrate and reflect on contributions that individuals of the African Diaspora have made throughout the world. This time also affords the opportunity to recognize some of the tremendous accomplishments marked through the many endeavors of Black Americans in U.S. history. Below is information about honorees chosen by Assemblymember Akilah Weber, M.D. (CA-79) in celebration of Black History Month this year.

December 12, 2022 (La Mesa) – Assemblymember Dr. Akilah Weber will host her  second annual Winter Literacy and Book Giveaway event (while supplies last) on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 6845 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92115.

ASSEMBLYMEMBER WEBER COMMUNITY RECOGNITIONS CELEBRATION

December 12, 2022 (San Diego) -  Assemblymember Akilah Weber, M.D. (D-79) held a community recognitions ceremony on Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the George Stevens Senior Center in Encanto. The purpose of the year-end event is to honor community leaders and small business owners in District 79 who were recognized for their hard work and public service during the year. Each honoree was nominated by their fellow community members and invited to attend the in-person ceremony with their family. Students who completed Asm. Weber’s Young Legislator’s Program were also invited to the celebration.
