February 28, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State’s Molly Sturdivant (Santa Ana, Calif.) has been named the Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. It is the first career award for the sophomore and the first by an Aztec this season.

February 26, 2017 (Cathedral City, Calif.) - The San Diego State softball team swept a pair of games on the final day of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic Sunday in Cathedral City, Calif., highlighted by a 3-2 come-from-behind win over No. 17/17 Utah. The Aztecs (8-5) also run-ruled New Mexico State, 10-2, in five innings earlier in the day.

February 25, 2017 (Cathedral City, Calif.) - The San Diego State softball team opened up its play in the prestigious Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic with a split against a pair of 2016 NCAA tournament teams Friday night in Cathedral City, Calif. The Aztecs (5-5) first run-ruled Oklahoma State 17-5 in six innings before falling to No. 1/1 Florida State 6-4 in the nightcap.

February 21, 2017 (San Diego) - Since the rest of the Campbell/Cartier Classic last weekend was rained out, SDSU softball didn't returne to Aztec Softball Stadium until tonight when they hosted the Siena University Saints on Tuesday night.  Senior righty Erica Romero got the start for the Aztecs against Siena’s freshman righty Maddie McMahon.

February 16, 2017 (San Diego) - Julie McDonald (Carlsbad, Calif./Carlsbad HS) tossed a three-hit shutout against UC Riverside to help San Diego State to a split at the 27th annual Campbell/Cartier Classic Thursday at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (3-4) first downed the Highlanders (1-5), 3-0, before falling to No. 8/9 Washington, 6-5, later in the night.

February 16, 2017 (San Diego) - Due to rain, what was supposed to be SDSU softball’s weekend-long hosting of the 27th annual Campbell/Cartier Classic is now reduced to three games today and one on Tuesday.  The Aztecs hosted UC Riverside earlier today and tonight, they hosted the Huskies from Washington.  The No. 8 Huskies faced UC Riverside earlier tonight.

February 12, 2017 (Los Angeles) - The San Diego State softball team scored the first 10 runs of the game and the final six in a 16-7 victory over Weber State in the final game of UCLA’s Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament Sunday in Los Angeles. The Aztecs (2-3), who came into Sunday with 28 hits through their first four games, had 20 today in the victory.

February 11, 2017 (Long Beach, Calif.) - The San Diego State softball team dropped a pair of games Saturday in Long Beach, Calif., falling to No. 22/22 Notre Dame, 5-2, and Long Beach State, 5-1. The Aztecs are now 1-3 on the season.

February 10, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State split a pair of games on its opening day Friday at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (1-1) downed South Dakota, 7-1, in the opener before falling to No. 8/8 UCLA, 8-0, in six innings later in the day in games that were moved to San Diego because of inclement weather in the Los Angeles area.

February 1, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State junior catcher Jenavee Peres (Garden Grove, Calif.) has been named to the 2017 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Watch List, USA Softball announced Wednesday. Peres is one of 50 players on the preseason list.
