February 16, 2019 (San Diego) - San Diego State received a complete game, four-hit shutout from Marissa Moreno to defeat UC Santa Barbara 1-0 and record a split Saturday night at the 29th annual Campbell/Cartier Classic at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (6-3) later lost to Grand Canyon 8-0.

February 10, 2019 (Phoenix) - The San Diego State softball team finished its opening weekend with a 9-0 loss to No. 4/4 Oklahoma Sunday at the Grand Canyon University Kickoff Tournament in Phoenix.

The Aztecs (3-2) managed only one hit off Sooner (5-0) pitcher Shannon Saile, a single by West Hills alum Katie Byrd in the top of the first inning. Megan Smith and Molly Sturdivant also drew walks for SDSU.

February 9, 2019 (Phoenix) - The San Diego State softball team split a pair of games Saturday at the Grand Canyon University Kickoff Tournament in Phoenix. The Aztecs (3-1) once again used a seventh inning rally to beat Charlotte 5-4 in the opener before falling to the host Lopes (2-2) 9-0 in five innings later in the day.

July 12, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State softball team has added three collegiate transfer pitchers to the program, head coach Kathy Van Wyk announced today. Two of the three - MJ James (Patrick Henry HS/Ohio State) and Hannah Johnson (La Habra HS/Cal State Fullerton) - were on teams that made the 2018 NCAA tournament, while Alicia Garcia (Mira Mesa HS) starred at nearby Palomar College.

May 12, 2018 (San Diego) - Senior Zaria Meshack hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give San Diego State the series sweep over Utah State Saturday afternoon at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs finished their season with a 20-31 overall record, including an 11-13 mark in Mountain West play.

May 11, 2018 (San Diego) - Shelby Thompson homered and drove in three runs, and Julie McDonald pitched a four-hit complete game in a 6-1 San Diego State victory over Utah State Friday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (19-31, 10-13 MW) clinched the series with the win.

May 6, 2018 (Alberquerque) - San Diego State outhit New Mexico, 8-4, but left 11 runners on base for a third straight game in a 4-1 loss at Lobo Softball Field Sunday afternoon in Albuquerque, N.M. The Aztecs dropped to 17-31 overall and 8-13 in MW play, while the Lobos improved to 14-36 and 7-14 with the series win.

April 28, 2018 (San Diego) - Molly Sturdivant capped a five-run first inning with a grand slam and the San Diego State pitching staff allowed just two hits in a 6-2 victory over Colorado State Saturday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs (15-29, 6-11 MW) and the Rams (25-15, 9-8 MW) each have one win in the series ahead of Sunday’s rubber game.

April 28, 2018 (San Diego) - San Diego State was unable to come up with the key hits in a 3-0 loss to Colorado State in the series opener Friday night at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The Rams (25-14, 9-7 MW) scored all three of their runs in the top of the first inning before being held in check the rest of the game by Aztec (14-29, 5-11 MW) pitcher Marissa Moreno.

April 22, 2018 (Fresno) - The San Diego State softball team dropped the series finale at Fresno State by a 4-2 score Sunday afternoon at Margie Wright Diamond in Fresno, Calif. The Aztecs are now 14-28 on the season (5-10 in Mountain West play), while the Bulldogs are 29-16 overall and remain in first play in the league standings at 12-3.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Aztecs (10-21, 1-3 MW).

March 18, 2018 (Los Altos, Calif.) - The San Diego State softball team ended its Mountain West opening series with a 9-1, five-inning loss at San José State Sunday afternoon at Foothill College in Los Altos, Calif. The Aztecs are now 9-20 and 0-3 in MW play.
