March 7, 2021 (Alpine) - For decades, Wright’s Field in Alpine has been a target for development.  Because of its rich natural resources and quality and diversity of plant and animal life, the land has long been protected from turning into a housing development, golf course, high school and an active sports park.  But now a controversial proposal would allow a $28 million, 26-acre sports complex to be built adjacent to land preserved by the Back County Land Trust. (BCLT) 

BACK COUNTRY LAND TRUST HOSTS ART AUCTION HOLIDAY PARTY DEC. 12

 

December 10, 2014 (San Diego's East County) - Celebrate the holiday season with an artist reception, gallery viewing, and silent auction! featuring handcrafted works by local artists—all to benefit Back Country Land Trust and our local arts community. The event will be held on Friday, Dec. 12 from 7-10 p.m. at the Alpine Community Church, fuller Hall (2225 West Victoria Drive, Alpine).  A suggested $10 donation includes homemade appetizers & desserts, and hosted beer, wine, and holiday speciality drinks.  All artwork & handcrafts will be available for silent auction bidding.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO REPLANT ALPINE CREEK WITH NATIVE PLANTS NOV. 15 AND 22

 

November 10, 2014 (Alpine) – The Back Country Land Trust (BCLT) and the Endangered Habitats Conservancy are looking for volunteers to help restore the watershed along Alpine Creek and Alpine Boulevard.  On Saturday, November 15th and 22nd, volunteers will help plant native trees, shrubs, and ground-cover species to enhance native habitat along this important wildlife corridor through Alpine.  Here are details provided by the BCLT:
