BUGLARY INTERRUPTED IN LA MESA, SUSPECT GETS AWAY

May 30, 2012 (La Mesa)—At  approximately 4:15 p.m. yesterday, the La Mesa Police Department received a call of a burglary that had just been interrupted in the 7400 block of Colony Drive. The witnesses reported that they observed a female suspect hanging out of the window of the victim’s home.
 
When they confronted the suspect, she ran away. La Mesa officers established a perimeter and with the assistance of San Diego Sheriff’s ASTREA, attempted to located the suspect with negative results.
 
The suspect was described as a black female in her late 20s. She was wearing a white t-shirt, baggy khaki pants and a blue head wrap. The suspect was last seen running southeast from the area. It is believed that the suspect may live in the area. There was no loss as a result of this crime.
 
The investigation in continuing. Anyone with information is urged to call the La Mesa Police Department at (619) 667-1400.
