July 11, 2012 (San Diego’s East County)—Seth Tucker, 22, was arrested this morning for a scam in which he allegedly asked Santee residents for donations to send a local high school baseball team to Maui for a championship game.

“Investigators learned that Tucker had been doing this scam for several months in several different neighbors,” said Sgt. Tom Poulin.  “He would always represent himself as a player for the local high school team of the area he was in.”

Tucker was taken into custody in the 12000 block of Calle De Medio in El Cajon.  Also arrested at the same residence was Danica Centracchio, 22, for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Over the past two days, detectives have been contracted by numerous victims. The investigation is continuing.

Baseball Scam

I am someone who fell for this! I should have known better. I am so glad he was finally stopped and wish I'd called the police after he came to my house. Although he talked a good game I had the feeling after that he wasn't legit. And the weird thing is that about 2 months prior, a girl came to our house with a similar story and I fell for that one too! Wondering if she was the girlfriend mentioned in the story/report!! Lesson learned!
