August 24, 2017 (Lemon Grove) – Law enforcement agencies from multiple agencies  shot and killed a man in Lemon Grove who had opened fire on them following a pursuit early this morning, Times of San Diego.

The chase reportedly began after a La Mesa Police officer  approaching a suspicious car stopped at a green light near Fletcher Parkway and Baltimore Drive heard screams; the car then sped away, according to Times of San Diego.

Sheriff’s deputies and San Diego Police joined the high-speed pursuit of the grey sedan through La Mesa, Spring Valley and Lemon Grove on Rebecca Way, near Monte Vista High School, where three men fled on foot, according to Sheriff’s Homicide Detective  Lt. Kenn Nelson, 10 News reports.

When police deployed a K-9 dog,  one of the suspects was bitten by the police dog and opened fire.  Four officers from the three agencies fired back, killing the shooter.

A second suspect has been taken into custody.  Law enforcement officers have been conducting a house to house search for a third suspect who wore a white shirt  and was described as black or Middle Eastern, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

According to 10 News, officers were awaiting a warrant this morning to search the vehicle.  It is not yet clear who was screaming when the La Mesa officer approached, or whether the individuals who fled had committed crimes.

Officer involved shooting

Good evening, I was just notified that the car used in the shooting that occurred (08/27/2017)was mine, the one that was 'borrowed' (but never returned) by sabrina 'brina' macias last friday 08/18/2017. When i reported it stolen on sunday 08/20/2017 la mesa officer west informed me that since i initially loaned it to her it wasn't stolen even tho they also charged a little less than 500$ on my STOLEN debit card. He didn't even write up an incident report simply referred me to SDPD Where officer Y.Banez did nothing other than filed an incident report....just think if one of the officers would have done their job and actually filed their report maybe this death wouldn't have happened & i would have my vehicle back.
