January 9, 2019 (San Diego) -- SD County Supervisor Dianne Jacobs voted No yesterday on providing emergency shelter to refugees seeking political asylum.  She said we should take care of our own homeless residents first.

What a HYPOCRITE — she has consistently refused to do anything meaningful to shelter and care for 9k homeless San Diego County residents, which led to the nation’s worst HepA epidemic in 20 years in 2017.  With a $2 billion reserve, The County can do BOTH. It’s about priorities.

CCC

California Conservation Corp - yes I do remember. Been a very long time since I heard that used.

I agree with Supervisor Jacob

Humanity vs bottom line? 54% of Americans work and pay 100% of all taxes. It is our lawmakers, who are allowing this State to become trashed by "politicians" who suggest taking California out of the Union, allowing sanctuary status to include the State itself, taxing everything, baby sitting everyone - legal or otherwise etc. California has been advertising nation wide for years about our beautiful warm climate year round so we have lots of homeless immigrants to join the freebe communities already here. I am not happy about "my" supervisor and her place in our community, but she is right on when putting her foot down. Take lesson from our President, you want to receive assistance? You work for it. Do any of you remember the CCC or the Work Progress Administration? Bet you don't. Keep it up Supervisor Jacob, keep the purse string closed.
