September 16, 2023 (Oakland) - If there were any series for the Padres to swee, it’s this one against the struggling A’s and they’ve won one so far.  Matt Waldron started against Mason Miller for Oakland.

Juan Soto hit a sac fly in the first to score Ha-Seong Kim and Xander Bogaerts singled to score Fernando Tatis Jr. and the Padres led 2-0 after one.

Ryan Noda hit a sac fly in the third that scored Nick Allen and the Padres led 2-1 after three.

But like yesterday, the Padres kept extending.  Two runners scored on an error in the fifth and the Padres led 5-1 after five.

Zack Gelof homered in the sixth, but the Padres prevailed and took the series with a 5-2 win.
