ECM PADRES REPORT: SHUT OUT IN CHICAGO

April 26, 2023 (Chicago) - After a decent series in Arizona, the Padres ventured to the Windy City for three games with the Cubs.  Blake Snell started tonight’s game one against Justin Steele for Chicago. 

Yan Gomes blasted a two-run homer in the serving and the Cubs led 2-0 after two.

 
Gomes singled in the eighth to score Patrick Wisdom, Nico Hoerner tripled to score three and the Cubs quietly shut out the Padres 6-0.

Game two tomorrow is at 4:40 p.m. and can also be viewed on MLB Network.  Michael Wacha starts against Drew Smyly for the Cubs.
