March 21, 2017 (Santee) -- The City of Santee, and Santee Lakes present the 14th annual Spring Eggstravaganza at Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve (Lake #5) on Saturday, April 15^th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

March 14, 2017 (La Mesa) – The 18^th annual Spring Harp Fest, showing harmonica players and more, will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Harry Griffen Park (9550 Milden St.) in La Mesa. 

The event is free though a $10 donation is suggested. Funds are used to donate harmonicas to local schools. This year’s lineup includes:

March 13, 2017 (Lakeside)  - Lakeside's River Park Conservancy will hold the 10th annual San Diego River Run 5k on Saturday, May 6 from  8 a.m. to 11 a.m.at the Lakeside River Park trail.

The San Diego River Run 5k will be held in the morning this year, with on-site registration beginning at 7:00 am and the race starting at 8:00 am. The event will take place at Lakeside's River Park located at 10398 Channel Road, Lakeside.

March 8, 2017 (San Diego's East County) - This week’s Destination East County includes a honey festival, TOMATOMANIA, open house at a camel dairy, a healthy living fair and a stargazing party.

Plus, we’ll tell you about coming attractions including the Circle of Art show, a lilac festival, a piano and violin concert, a street fair with carnival rides, the famous Peg Leg Smith liar’s competition, Sweet Pea days, a Taste of Julian, and a chili cook-off with a hotrod contest.

March 7, 2017 (Alpine) -- The first Queen Bee Tea was a honey of a show on March 5 in Alpine.  Almost 100 guests attended the Honey Festival kick-off event, turning the Alpine Community Center at 1830 Alpine Blvd. into a hive of chatter, fanciful bee bonnets, fashion show, free photo booth, opportunity drawings, contests and special vendors.

March 4, 2017 (Jamul) — The Jamul Kiwanis are revving up for their 9^th annual Hot Rod and Chili Cookoff. The event will be held on April 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pio Pico/ Thousand Trails, 14615 Otay Lakes Road, Jamul.

February 24, 2017 (San Diego) -- Get ready to GO by BIKE! Register for Bike to Work Day 2017 and join thousands of commuters throughout the San Diego region as we GO by BIKE on Thursday, May 18.

When you register for Bike to Work Day, you can stop by one of 100 pit stops throughout San Diego County on Thursday, May 18 to pick up a FREE t-shirt, snacks, and encouragement. Pit stops will be open from 6 to 9 a.m. and locations will be listed on the Bike Month web page in early May.

February 16, 2017 (El Cajon) - You’re invited to start your St. Patrick’s Day celebration early and register now for the St. Patrick’s Day Half Marathon, 5K Run/Walk, Green Mile, and Tribes & Clans competition on Sunday, March 5, 2017.  The St. Patrick’s Day Half Marathon is dedicated to involve the entire family in fun and fitness.  This event is hosted by the Run East County Foundation.  Funds raised will benefit several East County charities.

February 15, 2017 (San Diego) - On Sunday, March 26th  from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the 21st annual Rolando Street Fair will be held in the 4700 block of Rolando Blvd. in Historic Rolando Village in the College Area in the City of San Diego. Rolando Blvd., south of El Cajon Boulevard.  The event includes over 130 vendors with handcrafts, food, carnival rides and kid's activities.  Live music bands will include Len Rainey and the Midnight Players, Trey Tosh & The Band Called Life, The Routine, Paul Cannon IRON SAGE WOOD, and Cassidy and the Music.
