The County Health and Human Services Agency issued a health advisory to the local medical community to be on the lookout for mumps given the unusually high number of cases being reported in the region.

October 24, 2016 (San Diego) - A student at San Diego State University was recently confirmed to have mumps after exposure to another student who had been ill and likely also had mumps, the County Health and Human Services Agency reported today.
The two students are housemates living off campus and were up-to-date with mumps vaccinations. The students were not hospitalized and have recovered.

October 3, 2016 (Santee) -- A person at San Diego Christian College in Santee has been diagnosed with mumps and may have exposed others on the campus on Sept. 16, 19 and 20, the County Health and Human Services Agency reported today.

September 9, 2016 (San Diego) - A San Diego County resident has been diagnosed with mumps and may have exposed others while attending a concert at the Casbah in San Diego, the County Health and Human Services Agency reported today.
March 14, 2016 (San Diego) -- Three more undergraduate students at the University of San Diego have been diagnosed with mumps, bringing the total number of cases at the school since February to five, according to the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency.
