`CHAMPIONS FOR HEALTH’ IS NEW NAME FOR MEDICAL SOCIETY’S FOUNDATION

June 9, 2016 (East County) – The charitable foundation formed 11 years ago by the San Diego County Medical Society has changed and shortened its name. Formerly called the San Diego County Medical Society Foundation, the foundation’s new name is Champions for Health, announced Barbara Mandel, Champions for Health CEO.

December 2, 2014 (San Diego)--Alzheimer’s disease is a devastating disorder that plunges its victims into a fog of lost memories, forgetfulness and an eventual loss of the ability to remember the most basic day-to-day details about their own lives.

It’s the region’s third leading cause of death.
