March 10, 2018 (San Diego) - The 14-time and 2017-18 Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers defeated the Tacoma Stars 6-2 in the 15-minute Game Three of the MASL Divisional Championship Series to advance to the Conference Final.

San Diego struck early to take control of the one-quarter game on a Bandon Escoto goal only 49 seconds in.  The Sockers would build a 5-0 lead before Tacoma found the back of the net. Scoring for San Diego was Kraig Chiles, Hiram Ruiz, Cesar Cerda, Erick Tovar and Brian Farber. Chris Toth was stellar in goal for San Diego. He picked up wins in both games by making key saves throughout the evening.

The Sockers forced Game Three with a rousing 9-3 effort in Game Two.

San Diego will face either Monterrey or Sonora in the one-game Western Conference Final. If Monterrey beats Sonora tomorrow, the Sockers will travel to Mexico for a game on Sunday. If Sonora can win Game Two and the Mini-Game on the road, San Diego will host the Conference Final on Thursday at Valley View Casino Center.
