October 21, 2019 (San Diego) - In a unanimous vote today, the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) board of directors elected San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher to a two-year term as chairperson. His appointment will run through December 2021. Supervisor Fletcher takes over for San Diego City Council President Georgette Gómez, who held the post since January 2018.

October 20, 2019 (San Diego) -  The public has a unique opportunity to submit their vision for the future of transit in San Diego through an online tool called the Vision Builder Challenge.

The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is hosting the Vision Builder Challenge as part of Elevate SD 2020 – the agency’s public engagement effort for a potential transit-only revenue measure for voters to consider on the November 2020 ballot. Ultimately the MTS Board of Directors will decide whether to move forward with a measure in early 2020.

NEW SIGNS INSTALLED ALONG SR-15 TO KEEP CARS OUT OF MTS BUS-ONLY LANES

June 14, 2018 (San Diego) -- New signs have been installed leading into median of State Route 15 (SR-15) between Interstate 805 (I-805) and Interstate 8 (I-8). The signs are aimed to remind motorists, transit riders and other travelers to stay out of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus-only lanes.
