SDSU SOFTBALL DROPS 5-0 DECISION TO NO. 25/25 KENTUCKY

February 15, 2018 (San Diego) - The San Diego State softball team was shut out by No. 25/25 Kentucky 5-0 Thursday night in the opener of the 28th annual Campbell/Cartier Classic at SDSU Softball Stadium.

Zaria Meshack, Taylor Stewart and Molly Sturdivant each had a hit and a walk for the Aztecs, who fell to 1-7 with their fifth straight loss.

Marissa Moreno (0-2) took the loss after allowing four runs - all unearned - on six hits and two walks over four innings. Alex Formby gave up one run on five hits over the final three innings of work.

An updated schedule for the Campbell/Cartier Classic is attached. SDSU now plays North Dakota State at 6 p.m. PT Friday, North Dakota State again at 1 p.m. PT Saturday and Cal State Fullerton at 11:30 a.m. PT Sunday.
