SDSU beats SJSU in eight innings

April 12, 2019 (San Diego) - Shelby Thompson hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift San Diego State to a come-from-behind 3-2 win over San Jose State Friday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. It was the fifth walk-off victory for the Aztecs (18-21, 6-7 MW) this season.

Thompson and Kiera Wright had two hits apiece for SDSU, which trailed, 2-0, heading into the bottom of the fifth.

Alicia Garcia picked up the win after tossing three innings of scoreless relief with three strikeouts and one hit allowed.

The second game of the series is at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
