SWAT standoff El Cajon

MILITARY MEMBER ARRESTED ON CHILD ENDANGERMENT CHARGES AFTER 9-HOUR STANDOFF NEAR DEHESA

September 22, 2021 (El Cajon) – A nine-hour standoff has ended peacefully in rural East County.  The incident began shortly after 1:30 this morning when a woman called 9-11 to report that her husband had a gun and was threatening to hurt himself in front of their children at the family’s home in the 1400 block of Wilson Road in unincorporated El Cajon near Dehesa.

MAN KILLS SELF AFTER TAKING SON HOSTAGE, TRIGGERING SWAT OPERATION IN EL CAJON

November 19, 2016 (El Cajon) — A man who prompted a SWAT standoff after firing shots and taking his 7-year-old son hostage last night is dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.  According to Lieutenant Royal Bates, the child exited the residence in the 800 block of Grape Street unharmed shortly before the gunshot was heard.
