August 7, 2014 (San Diego)- At the July 31 Somali Bantu Association of America board meeting, president and CEO, Said Abiyow, told ECM he is specifically looking for more volunteers to help promote events and they also hope to promote themselves.

LAY-OFFS ON GROSSMONT UNION HIGH SCHOOL BOARD AGENDA APRIL 19

April 17, 2012 (El Cajon) – The Grossmont Union High School Board meeting on April 19 will include a  Superintendent’s vote on Voting Rights Act issues, a resolution to implement lay-offs of classified employees, and other key issues.  The meeting will be held at the East County Regional Education Center, 924 East Main Street.

ALPINE FIRE BOARD APPOINTS A NEW DIRECTOR, FIREFIGHTER PROMOTES TO ENGINEER

 

March 30, 2012 (Alpine) -- The Alpine Fire Protection District (AFPD) Board of Directors has appointed a new Director to fill the seat vacated by long time Director Ron Fuller. Ron Fuller was forced to resign from the Board at the February 21 Board meeting due to health reasons. At the March 20 Board meeting, the AFPD Board selected Jim Archer out of five people who expressed an interest in filling out Fuller’s term on the board.
