August 7, 2019 (San Diego) - At today’s Board of Supervisors’ meeting, Supervisor Gaspar requested County staff and health experts develop a countywide lactation policy for employees and nursing mothers who do business at the County Administration Center.

MEDICAL MEET AND GREETS FOR REFUGEES SOON TO BECOME REGULAR AFFAIRS

August 7, 2017 (El Cajon) -- Medical handouts, translated to English and Arabic, are strewn across the table at St. John’s Church for Syrian and Afghan refugees. Health organizations around San Diego participated in an educational meet and greet to introduce the differences in urgent and emergency care, proper nutrition and disease prevention.

NILE SISTERS RECEIVES GRANT FOR NURSING ASSISTANT PROGRAM

January 23, 2017 (San Diego) -- Nile Sisters, a local organization dedicated to helping refugees in San Diego County, has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the California Endowment for its certified nursing assistant vocational training program.

ALVARADO HOSPITAL APPOINTS NEW ADMINISTRATOR

 
April 7, 2012 (San Diego) -- Robin Gomez has been appointed administrator for Alvarado Hospital Medical Center effective immediately. In this role, she oversees all operations, physician relations and the hospital’s strategic direction. She also will be focused on patient satisfaction, patient safety and key customer service goals.
