BRUSH FIRE IN DESCANSO HALTED AT 8 ACRES

 

August 24, 2014 (Descanso) – A wildland fire in Descanso on Sunday briefly threatened structures. The blaze started in light, flashy fuels near the Descanso Library at River Drive and Viejas Boulevard.

ANOTHER WIND TURBINE FIRE –THIS TIME, IN TEHACHAPI

August 2, 2012 (San Diego’s East County) – For the second time this summer, an industrial wind turbine sparked a grass fire in Southern California. On Friday night, July 27, a large wind turbine burst into flame in the Tehachapi are above the Mohave Desert. In June, as ECM previously reported, a wind turbine fire in the Whitewater area of Riverside County spread into a wildland fire that charred 367 acres and forced evacuation of homes.

WILDLAND FIRE EXERCISES MAY 10-12 AT BARONA RESERVATION, FLINN SPRINGS DURING MONTH OF MAY

 
May 10, 2012  (Barona) -- San Diego County’s Annual Wildland Fire Exercise will be held this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (May 10, 11, 12) on the Barona Reservation. There will be dozens of fire apparatus traveling on the highways of Lakeside on their way to Barona who is hosting the event this year.
