HIGH RATES OF LEAD CONTAMINATION FOUND IN CALIFORNIA CHILDREN

March 27, 2017 (San Diego) – Last week, lead contamination was discovered at a school in the San Diego Unified School District.  Testing was done after a service dog refused to drink the water and a film was noticed on the water’s surface.  Now, San Diego Unified School District has announced it will test all local schools’ water systems.

LOCAL ATHLETES SPEAK OUT ON DANGERS OF CHEWING TOBACCO IN WAKE OF TONY GWYNN'S DEATH

June 24, 2014 (San Diego)--The death of baseball giant Tony Gwynn at only 54 years of age has drawn national attention to the dangers of chewing tobacco.  Gwynn had suffered through surgeries and paralysis of part of his face following cancer linked to his habit of chewing tobacco – a custom shared by many baseball players as well as 9% of all high school students nationwide.

BILL AIMS TO GET THE LEAD OUT OF AMMO

June 10, 2013 (Sacramento)--A bill that aims to get the lead out of ammunition is being considered by lawmakers in Sacramento. AB711 would phase out the use of lead bullets and shot for all hunting in the Golden State.
