MOUSE AT MT. PALOMAR CAMPGROUND TESTS POSITIVE FOR HANTAVIRUS

 

County Urges Campers and area residents to Use Caution

 

August 16, 2010 (Palomar) -- A wild brush mouse trapped in Fry Creek Campground on Mt. Palomar tested positive for the potentially-deadly hantavirus during routine monitoring, San Diego County Vector Control officials said today. Nineteen mice have tested positive for Hantavirus this year countywide.

LET IT SNOW! WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ISSUED FOR MOUNTAINS

 

 

March 6, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) – The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 6 p.m. tonight through 2 p.m. tomorrow. Four to six inches of snow have been forecast above 4500 feet tonight in higher elevations including Palomar Mountain, Cuyamaca, Mount Laguna, and Ranchita.

 

A hazardous weather outlook has also been issued for most of Southern California.
