SPJ RAISES CONCERNS OVER SDPD, FBI VISIT TO JOURNALISM STUDENT'S HOME

May 29, 2015 (San Diego)--The Society of Professional Journalists San Diego Pro Chapter has issued a statement criticizing local and federal law enforcement for going “too far” when an FBI agent and a San Diego Police Department detective on the San Diego Joint Terrorism Task Force visited a San Diego City College student journalist’s home. The investigators inquired about a news crew filming outside the FBI San Diego office for a story about sex trafficking.

LAKESIDE MAN ARRESTED IN FBI SWAT STANDOFF

March 9, 2014 (San Diego) – FBI hostage negotiators are accustomed to tense situations –but normally not at their own home base.  But after a man climbed a steel corrugated security gate and made his way onto the top of a building in the FBI headquarters at 10385 Vista Sorrento Parkway in San Diego, a stand-off ensued that ended this evening with the arrest of Lakeside resident William Durant, 36.

THREE MEN SENTENCED FOR SEX TRAFFICKING CHARGES INVOLVING 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL

September 23, 2010 (San Diego) – U.S. Attorney Laura E. Duffy announced last week that three men have been sentenced to prison for sexual exploitation of a child and sex trafficking involving a minor.

FBI, SHERIFF SEEK PUBLIC HELP TO IDENTIFY ALPINE BANK ROBBER

March 30, 2010 (Alpine) --The FBI and San Diego Sheriff’s Department ask the public’s help to identify a man who robbed a California Bank & Trust at 2250 Alpine Boulevard yesterday at 11:27 a.m. After the robbery, the suspect fled on a red BMX type bicycle westbound on Alpine Boulevard and was last seen heading westbound on Arnold Way.

 

Witnesses describe him as white, age 17 to 25, 5’7” to 5’8” in height, weighing 140 to 150 pounds. He wore a full-face, off-road motorcycle helmet with a black design on top, a white bandana covering his face, goggles or sunglasses, a black sweatshirt, black pants and white sneakers.
