POLICE WARN OF MAN IN RED VEHICLES TRYING TO KIDNAP YOUNG CHILDREN

May 25, 2012 (San Diego) – San Diego Police have issued a warning that on three occasions in the past two weeks, a man in a red vehicle has attempted to abduct children near Emerson Elementary School in the Mountain View neighborhood in southeast san Diego.

ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING OF 11-YEAR OLD

 

September 23, 2010 (Encanto) – Two people in a White Ford Explorer reportedly tried to coax an 11-year-old walking to school into their vehicle yesterday morning, San Diego Police report. The attempted kidnapping occurred near 61st street and Division in the Encanto neighborhood southwest of Lemon Grove.

ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING OF 11-YEAR-OLD BOY IN CARMEL VALLEY

 

Editor's note:  Although this crime occurred west of I-15, in cases of serious threats to public safety such as the attempted abduction of a child by strangers, we cover countywide to assist law enforcement in locating suspects and warn the public of suspected predators in our region.

June 3, 2010 (San Diego) – San Diego Police are seeking two white men and a woman in a dark-colored SUV with a tire rack and spare tire on the roof. The vehicle approached an 11-year-old boy who was walking home from a tutoring class shortly after 4 p.m. today in the 12700 block of Carmel Country Road. One of the men ordered the victim to get in the vehicle; a woman in the backseat appeared to be holding a handgun, SDPD reports.
