September 1, 2019 (Pine Valley) – How safe are wireless technologies including new 5G now being rolled out across our region?  Are the following useful to protect yourself against radioactive injuries: Y-Shield paint, a visit from a building biologist, EMF shielding curtains and fabrics, using airplane mode on your cell, turning off your router at night, and carrying around a portable, personal radiation detector?

Beware of gift card scammers and fake WIFI

December 20, 2016 (San Diego's East County) - At this time of year, most of us are getting our credit and debit cards out more often than normal. That means the chance that a cyber thief will try to steal your money or your identity increases as well. Shopping online can be a risk, but it's also easy to fall victim to scammers when using public WiFi.

At Nov. 4 hearing, county planners should reject cell phone tower in heart of our small town

October 27, 2011 (Julian)--On November 4th, 2011, the San Diego County Planning Commission will render their decision on whether to approve a proposed cell tower to be placed in the center of residential-zoned Shelter Valley, Julian- the tiny, dark sky-designated rural town at the edge of the Anza Borrego Desert State Park that I and my husband live in.

SANTEE LAKES RECEIVES BEST CAMPGROUND AWARD

 

 

September 21, 2011 (Santee) -- Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve recently received the 2011 San Diego's Best Campground from the San Diego Union Tribune's Readers Poll.

 
"Thank you to the residents of San Diego for their continued support,"  said Jonathan Skinner,director of park and recreation. "The staff and volunteers at Santee Lakes are dedicated to maintaining the high quality standards, which our patrons have come to expect."
