CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY GROUPS CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

September 13, 2023 (San Diego) -- National Hispanic Heritage Month starts this Friday, and runs through Oct. 15. Dozens of events are planned up and down the Golden State to honor California's more than 15 million Hispanic residents, who make up more than 40% of the population.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATED AT GROSSMONT AND CUYAMACA COLLEGES

 

September 11, 2015 (El Cajon)--The Grossmont College Latino Film Festival and a Cuyamaca College Latino Heritage Celebration highlight an array of special events honoring Hispanic Heritage Month at the two East County colleges beginning Sept. 15.

All of the events are free and open to the public.

ARRIBA! SPRING VALLEY FIESTA SEPT. 27

 

August 15, 2014 (Spring Valley) - The 9th Annual Spring Valley Fiesta will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with entertainment, refreshments, children's jumper, video game truck, face painting, and community information booths. The Fiesta is free of charge, and the public is invited to enjoy this special occasion that all ages can enjoy.

SPRING VALLEY LIBRARY BRANCH’S 8TH ANNUAL FIESTA SEPT. 21

September 7, 2013 (Spring Valley) – The San Diego County Library celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with the 8th annual Spring Valley Library Fiesta on Sept. 21 from 1 – 4 p.m, at the Spring Valley Library, 836 Kempton Street.  The Fiesta will offer free entertainment and activities for all ages.

UNION BANK AND KPBS HONOR SEVENTEEN LOCAL HEROES

 
January 25, 2012 (San Diego) -- As part of its ongoing commitment to cultural diversity and responsible banking, Union Bank, N.A., has partnered with KPBS to honor 17 local individuals who are making a difference to enrich the lives of others.  The honorees were announced as part of the 2011 Cultural Diversity Partnership, which recognizes and pays tribute to local heroes from eight diverse communities who are making a difference by improving their workplace, profession, neighborhood, community, region and the world.  The year-long celebration of diversity culminates with an awards ceremony on  February 8, 2012, where recipients will be formally recognized.
