August 21, 2021 (San Diego) -- With data from nearly 7,500 San Diegans and over 15 focus groups with people from underrepresented communities, the preliminary findings of the first phase of the Library Master Planare now ready to be shared with the public. San Diego Public Library Director Misty Jones will host a public presentation on August 24 to showcase these findings.

February 11, 2021 (San Diego) -- Write Out Loud, San Diego Public Library, La Jolla Historical Society and San Diego Writers, Ink present the SanDiego Decameron Project. Community members countywide were invited to submit unpublished fiction or nonfiction narratives of 1,000 words or less based loosely around the theme of the current pandemic. The top 10 most compelling stories will be read by Write Out Loud actors and presented in a virtual presentation on February 26 along with a panel discussion with the top authors. Call for Submissions Answered by Hundreds, Exhibit Brings Exposure to Local Talent
October 8, 2012 (San Diego)--The San Diego Public Library is calling on San Diego county authors who have published books in 2012 to submit them to the 47th Annual Local Authors Exhibit. The aim of the Exhibit is to nurture writers, foster the pursuit of the writing arts and to create a great opportunity for the recognition of San Diego literary talents. The deadline for registering and submitting books is Monday, December 10, 2012. Authors may register online at www.sandiegolibrary.org.

June 6, 2012 (San Diego) -- SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Public Library continues its poetry and spoken word series Downtown Verse during June. The next featured performance is by the Lake San Marcos Writers on Monday, June 11. The performance begins at 4:00 pm in the Lobby of the Central Library, located at 820 E Street in downtown San Diego. This event is free and open to the public.

January 26, 2012 (San Diego)--The San Diego Public Library hosts the 46th Annual Authors Exhibition at the downtown library throughout the month of February. The Local Author Exhibit highlights the intellectual and creative accomplishments of writers in the San Diego region, and I am fortunate to be included among those. The aim of the exhibit is to bring exposure to local talent and to nurture the pursuit of the writing arts in San Diego.
