November 15, 2021 (San Diego) - The County Health & Human Services Agency, Department of Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities has received a $125,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to improve the safety of bicyclists, pedestrians and scooter riders.

CHP PEDESTRIAN SAFETY ENFORCEMENT MARCH 8 IN SPRING VALLEY

March 5, 2018 (Spring Valley) -- As part of its ongoing efforts to improve pedestrian safety in Spring Valley, the California Highway Patrol (CHP), will be conducting a pedestrian safety enforcement operation that will focus on motorists and pedestrians who fail to yield the right-of-way or who take unsafe and illegal actions.  The enforcement operation will take place on March 8 at Troy Street west of Central Avenue in Spring Valley.

WOMAN STRUCK, KILLED BY VEHICLE IN EL CAJON

 
March 15, 2012 (El Cajon) -- A woman, 50, who stepped into a roadway while talking with companions at a bus stop in El Cajon was struck by a PT Cruiser and killed at 8:08 p.m. last night in the 1100 block of East Main Street.
