March 9, 2013 (Julian)--There will be an old fashioned brunch between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and noon at the historic Pine Hills Lodge, tucked into the woods near Julian. The cost is $12.95 for adults, $10.95 Children 10 and under and, $5 for a highchair.

EL CAJON HOSTS ANOTHER CENTENNIAL COMMUNITY MEETING AUGUST 6

 
July 31, 2012 (El Cajon )--The excitement grows for El Cajon’s big Centennial celebration on November 12.  Another Community Centennial planning meeting will be held on Monday, August 6, 5:30 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Community Center, located at 195 E. Douglas Avenue in El Cajon.  City staff will again be sharing the latest in  Centennial plans.

Modern Day Scavenger Hunt Uses GPS-Enabled Devices to Find City’s Historic Treasures 
June 10, 2012 (La Mesa) -- The La Mesa Centennial-themed Amazing Geocache Challenge is officially on, and anyone who appreciates a fun and family-friendly modern-day scavenger hunt is encouraged to participate – and possibly win prizes along the way. Officially started on June 2 to coincide with the city’s Flag Day Parade, the Challenge concludes at 5pm October 7, 2012, with the City’s other beloved event, the La Mesa Octoberfest.

STATE PARKS DEPT. WEIGHS PROPOSAL TO SAVE PALOMAR MOUNTAIN STATE PARK AFTER SUPPORTERS RAISE $72,000 IN PLEDGES TO KEEP PARK OPEN

March 18, 2012 (Palomar) – Friends of Palomar Mountain State Park announced this week that they have reached and exceeded their fundraising goal to fill the budget gap between the park’s operating expenses and revenues. The group received nearly $72,000 in pledges—far more than the $60,000 sought.
