April 30, 2018 (La Mesa) – Remarks made by La Mesa School Board president and gun shop owner David Chong in a video on his Facebook page are drawing criticism from some parents and teachers, bringing gun issues to the November reelection campaign.

VACANCY ON LA MESA-SPRING VALLEY BOARD OF EDUCATION

July 4, 2017 (La Mesa-Spring Valley) -  Applications are being accepted now through July 24 to fill a vacancy on the La Mesa-Spring Valley Board of Education. Board member Rick Winet resigned after taking a position with McGregor Inc., a benefits administrator, to avoid a potential conflict of interest.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, reside within the boundaries of the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, be a United States citizen, and a registered voter.  The appointee will serve through December 2018.

LA MESA-SPRING VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO CONSIDER BOARD APPOINTMENT

January 20, 2015 (La Mesa) – The La Mesa-Spring Valley School District Board meets this evening at 7:00 p.m., and will consider candidates to fill a vacancy on the Board resulting from former Board Member Bill Baber’s election to La Mesa City Council.

INCUMBENTS ARE RETURNED TO LA MESA-SPRING VALLEY SCHOOL BOARD

November 7, 2012 (La Mesa) — Incumbents Emma Turner, Psy.D. was re-elected, as was William "Bill" Baber, a local attorney, to the La Mesa-Spring Valley School Board. Both are Republicans and both have shown support for public education in their district.
