COUNTY TO HOLD VIRTUAL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS FESTIVAL SUNDAY

October 31, 2020 (San Diego) -- The County’s Parks and Recreation Department is holding a virtual Dia de los Muertos Festival from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, that will feature regional dance performances, a cultural story time and a “how-to” arts and crafts workshop.
The online celebration, which will also feature a virtual tour of the Rancho Guajome Adobe, will take place on the County Park’s YouTube channel — Youtube.com/SDCountyparks — and everyone is invited to join in! The festivities will be conducted in English and Spanish.

TIERRA DEL SOL MIDDLE SCHOOL HOSTS 2015 S.T.E.P. PROGRAM

March 16, 2015 (Tierra del Sol)--Tierra Del Sol (TDS) Middle School hosted hundreds of 4th and 5th graders from neighboring Lakeside Union elementary schools in their third annual Student Teachers Educating Peers (S.T.E.P.) program on Saturday, March 7th.

June 23, 2012 (Santee) – The Santee-Lakeside Rotary Club Foundation and the Santee Lakes Foundation present Concert at the Lakes 2012 on June 30 at Santee Lakes from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The musicians performing include Dave Scott’s Band, Monsoon and Santee’s own, Fossil Fuel.

CARE CLUB’S STUDENT DIRECTED FASHION SHOW: “THE ENDS JUSTIFY THE JEANS” MAY 25

 
May 19, 2012 (El Cajon) -- The CARE Club at El Cajon Valley High School, a student-directed fashion show, will host its fifth annual fashion show on Friday, May 25 at 7 p.m. in the El Cajon Valley High School gym.  This year, the theme will be “The Ends Justify the Jeans.”  The show will benefit the YWCA of San Diego and Laura’s House of Orange County, two organizations helping women.

FROM A TO Z---ADULT BALLET TO ZUMBA, SPRING ADULT AND YOUTH RECREATION CLASSES ANNOUNCED IN LA MESA

 

April 3, 2012 (La Mesa) -- La Mesa Community Services is enrolling now for their popular adult classes , and for the youth recreation classes that begin the week of April 9th. La Mesa Community Services Recreational Program was honored as 2010 Best of East County, by the 2010 East County Californian Readers Poll. 

Adult classes include: Adult Ballet, Belly Dancing, Boot Camp, Dog Obedience, Fencing, Ice Skating, Irish Folk Music, La Mesa Stroller Strides, Tennis, Walk and Talk, Yoga, Zumba, Adult Lap Swim, Adult Learn to Swim, Masters Swim Team, and Watercise.

ON THEIR TOES: ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS OPENS STUDIOS IN LA MESA

November 30, 2009 (La Mesa) --The Academy of Performing Arts, San Diego’s acclaimed dance studio which has sent numerous students on to professional ranks, has just relocated to La Mesa. The new four-studio home is located at 5120 Baltimore Drive in the same shopping center with a Discount Dance Supply Store.
