FAA WORKING TO MITIGATE AIRPLANE NOISE IN EAST COUNTY

 

Members needed for new East County working group to study local airport noise

September 8, 2018 (Spring Valley) -- A working group is being formed to study the issue of airport noise in East County and provide recommendations to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in response. According to Susan Nichols, the group comprised of 15 members will look for feasible ways to reduce noise.

MORE EAST COUNTY RESIDENTS RAISE COMPLAINTS OVER HELICOPTER NOISE, SEEK IDENTITY OF MYSTERY CHOPPER HOVERING OVER THEIR HOMES

 

Update: A Sempra spokesperson has confirmed that these helicopters were contracted by SDG&E and that height limits were followed, but surveillance in the Jamul area is now over.

August 12, 2014 (San Diego’s East County) – Last week, we ran a story on residents’ complaints about an SDG&E helicopter that witnesses claimed was flying below legal height limits in the Descanso area. The flights, part of a surveying effort of power lines in Cleveland National Forest, allegedly caused injury to a horse that was startled by the helicopter.

PLANE CRASHES AT RAMONA AIRPORT



 

February 25, 2014 (Ramona) -- A single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft ran off the runway during landing at the Ramona Airport today at 10:30 a.m. Sheriff's deputies from Ramona responded. No injuries were reported.
