THE SHORT LIST: WORLD'S BEST FILM SERIES ON SCREEN IN LEMON GROVE DURING MAY AND JUNE

 

April 10, 2014 (Lemon Grove) - The Lemon Grove Historical Society and New Pacific Productions, Inc., will present a five-part film program featuring The Short List, the showcase for outstanding international short film, starting Apr. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lemon Grove Library, 3001 School Lane.The series will continue on May 7, 14 and 21 and culminate on June 4 with a hilarious comedy show.  All programs will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Rosemary Putnam Community Room of the library, where comfortable seating and state-of-the-art projection made the recent screenings of "John Adams" a pleasure for audiences.

41ST CALIFORNIA OPEN WILDLIFE ART FESTIVAL FEB. 15 & 16

 

February 3, 2014 (San Diego) – Pacific Southwest Wildlife Arts, Inc. is holding the 41st California Open Wildlife Art festival on February 15 & 16 at the Corky McMillan Event Center, NTC Promenade – Liberty Station, 2875 Dewey Road, San Diego.  The event will run from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. both days.  The festival will feature art exhibits, antique decoys, auctions, a carving competition, a youth painting event and vendors.

STATE CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES REPORTS SECURITY BREECH OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

 
March 31, 2012 (Sacramento) -- On March 12, the State learned that two contracted service providers, International Business Machines (IBM) and Iron Mountain Inc., could not locate several specialized computer storage devices containing information from the California Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) involving more than 800,000 individuals.
 
The devices were in transit from IBM’s facility in Colorado to California. Upon arrival, several storage devices were missing.

PARKWAY PLAZA BECOMES ART GALLERY FOR EAST COUNTY KIDS

June 1, 2009 (El Cajon)—Six art pieces selected from each of 87 participating middle and elementary schools were on display at the 19th Annual Kids Art Show last month at Westfield Parkway. Cookies accompanied a reception in the mall, just around the corner from Macy’s. Each artist received a blue ribbon, including Sophia Coseip, whose artwork is shown in the photo above.
