LEADERS IN WINE INDUSTRY HONORED WITH SIXTH ANNUAL TRAILBLAZERS AWARDS

November 17, 2018 (San Diegos East County)  Leaders in our local wine-making industry were honored at the 6thannual Trailblazer Awards presented by Maness Vineyards owners Greg and Paula Maness and past award winners. This years awards were presented during the Toast of East County at the Elks Lodge in El Cajon, hosted by the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce

This years winners include Elaine Littleton and Norm Case of Hatfield Creek Winery and Vineyards, Johnny and Shirley Schwaesdall of Schwaesdall Winery, family achievement award accepted bJoe Harmes of Vineyard Haciendaand a lifetime achievement award for wine instructor Dominic Dick Colangelo.

LOCAL WINE INDUSTRY PACKS A POTENT ECONOMIC PUNCH

January 2, 2018 (San Diego) – A report just released by the San Diego Vintners Association on the economic value of wineries in San Diego County shows that the burgeoning wine making industry is having a potent effect. In 2016, the county’s 116 wineries generated a $30.4 million regional impact and supported 697 jobs here.

Wine industry organizations throughout California form support network to assist vintners in three counties; leaders call for national support

October 11, 2017 (Santa Rosa) -- Wine industry leaders have formed a support network to provide immediate assistance and long-term aid to victims of the fires ravaging Northern California and are calling on the national wine community for additional help.  Organized by a group of association leaders representing the Golden State’s major winegrowing regions, support efforts include fundraising and creation of an online resource where vintners can find and offer resources, such as generators, trailers, lodging and manpower.

Inaugural event also features craft brews, honey, olives plus other local food offerings

November 2, 2015 (San Diego’s East County) – It’s not quite Napa…yet… but East San Diego County has established a vibrant and growing wine industry. There are more than 50 wineries in San Diego County, with more than 40 east of Highway 15. Many of those local east county vintners will have their products highlighted at the inaugural Toast to East County, to be held Sunday, November 8 at Cottonwood Golf Club in El Cajon.
