FIRST FLU DEATH OF SEASON REPORTED IN SAN DIEGO

October 28, 2022 (San Diego) - A 55-year-old man from the North Central region of the county is the first influenza death reported in San Diego this season, the County Health and Human Services Agency announced today.

February 23, 2022 (San Diego's East County) - A  64-year-old man from eastern San Diego County is the third influenza death reported in the region this season, the County Health and Human Services Agency announced today.

April 12, 2019 (San Diego) - An additional four flu deaths were reported in the region last week; this at the same time the number of influenza cases went down significantly, the County Health and Human Services Agency announced today.

FLU KILLS HUNDREDS HERE, INCLUDING 10-YEAR-OLD BOY

January 31, 2018 (San Diego) -- The flu is taking a deadly toll locally. Last week, 32 people died of the flu in San Diego County, including a 10-year-old boy. 

So far this season, 206 flu deaths have been reported, according to County Health and Human Services Agency announced today.

SAN DIEGO FLU DEATHS DOUBLE, CASES DOWN

 

Another 46 local flu deaths were reported last week, bringing this season’s total to 91, the County Health and Human Services Agency announced today.

The new deaths were announced during a presentation by County health officials to the Board of Supervisors, who had asked during last week’s meeting if a flu emergency needed to be declared.
