OCEANLEAF AWARDS HONORS THOSE HELPING REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS FROM EAST AFRICA AND SOMALIA

March 1, 2015 (San Diego)- On Wednesday February 25, Somali Family Services held its third annual Oceanleaf awards celebration at the Four Points by Sheraton. Aaron Bruce,  a professor at San Diego State University, was the Master of Ceremonies. The theme this year was Honoring Communities Woven Together by Hope and Resilience.

PCI HEALTHY START HEALTH FAIR & COMMUNITY BABY SHOWER: OCT. 3 AT JACOBS CENTER

October 1, 2012 (San Diego) – In honor of Bi-National Health week, PCI (Project Concern International)’s California Border Healthy Start (CBHS) Program and its partners, Black Infant Health (BIH) and San Diego Adolescent Pregnancy and Parenting Program (SANDAPP) are celebrating their pregnant program participants and children at a community baby shower this fall. The free event will be held on Wednesday, October 3 at the Jacobs Market Creek Plaza on Euclid and Market from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The pregnant women and children will be treated to health services information from different community clinics, pregnancy-belly dancing, photo sessions and gifts. Lunch will be served.

PCI COMMUNITY HOLIDAY OUTREACH SERVES OVER 200 GUESTS

Global humanitarian organization served over 230 people, including 160 children, with holiday gifts and community health resources

 

December 8, 2011 (San Diego, CA) -- PCI (Project Concern International) and the Strong, Healthy Empowered (SHE) group of PCI volunteers hosted their third annual Santa party and health fair in collaboration with PCI’s California Border Healthy Start (CBHS) Program on December 7, 2011 at the Jacobs Market Creek Plaza.  Other community agencies that participated include Logan Family Health Center at Logan Heights, American Red Cross WIC, La Maestra Family Health Center at National City, and the Family Health Centers at Lemon Grove.

 San Diego’s global humanitarian organization work offers holiday celebration for families in need

 
December 2, 2011 (San Diego) -- PCI (Project Concern International) and the Strong, Healthy Empowered (SHE) group of PCI volunteers are planning the third annual Santa party and health fair in collaboration with PCI’s California Border Healthy Start (CBHS) Program on December 7, 2011 at the Jacobs Market Creek Plaza on Euclid and Market from 2-4 p.m. The event will feature educational programs to include dental screening, healthy nutrition, and health resources. Santa will be entertaining children and their families with toys for the children, crafts and refreshments.

San Diego-based humanitarian organization launches 2012 gift-giving catalog to promote worldwide health and economic empowerment programs
 
November 17, 2011 (San Diego) -- PCI (Project Concern International) launched its 2012 symbolic gifts catalog, Gifts of Life. The catalog allows the public to give unique gifts that support PCI’s global programs and the people they reach in some of the most impoverished regions of the world.
