NEW LEMON GROVE LIBRARY OPENS JUNE 1

 

May 23, 2013 (Lemon Grove) – On June 1 at 10 a.m., the new Mission Revival style Lemon Grove Library, 3001 School Lane, will open its doors for a day of tours, new library cards, brand new books and resources, a new Friends of the Library bookstore, entertainment, music, food and rejoicing as this community of some 25,000 residents finally gets the library of its dreams. 

Reigning--and ringing--in the new bell tower will be the school district's original, 1894 school bell, recovered and restored in 2002 by the Lemon Grove Historical Society and reinstalled by the Lemon Grove School District on Mar. 12, 2013.

ROSEMARY PUTNAM GIVEN ROTARY CLUB'S VOLUNTEER AND HUMANITARIAN AWARD

 

February 28, 2011 (Lemon Grove) -- Rosemary Putnam, Lemon Grove outstanding humanitarian and volunteer, was recently presented the Paul Harris Award by the Rotary Club of Lemon Grove for her community service as Lemon Grove's Peacemaker of the Year. The Paul Harris Award represents a donation of $1000 given by Lemon Grove Rotary to the Foundation of Rotary International in the name of Rosemary Putnam.

LEMON GROVE LIBRARY TO NAME COMMUNITY ROOM FOR LONG-TIME VOLUNTEER ROSEMARY PUTNAM

 

Naming ceremony scheduled for Dec. 9

 

 

December 4, 2010 (Lemon Grove)--The Navy Band Southwest Brass Quintet, balloons, dignitaries--and legions of fans--will welcome Rosemary Putnam, doyenne of the Friends of the Lemon Grove Library, on Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. at the Lemon Grove Library, 8073 Broadway, for the gala Rosemary Putnam Naming Ceremony.
